Linda Barker Dazzles As The Ideal Home Show Flaunts A World First

Visitors are expressing their delight at the return to innovation especially in the design of the Open Plan Living Home by Jorntrahus.

Open Plan Living defines the modern way of life for many people today who have been knocking walls down since the 1970’s to create a more open plan, family friendly living space.

The Open Plan Living home at the exhibition is sponsored by Dulux and has been brought to life by the Dulux Let’s Colour Studio through the eyes of the lovely Linda Barker and top interior designer and stylist Maggie Colvin.

Featuring a no boundaries style open living space, three bedrooms and a mezzanine floor level the house has been designed by fourth generation Swedish house manufacturers, Jorntra. The new Jorntrahus Trend range is a world first for the Ideal Home Show, featuring not only the first non British company as part of their popular show village but also the world launch of these homes outside of Sweden.

The use of natural, responsibly sourced material makes this an environmentally friendly home, featuring very stylish and modern features with outstanding energy efficiency ratings. The design itself lets natural sunlight flood the interior, while the combination of triple glazed windows (fitted as standard) and timber keeps heat and energy in, meaning you do not have to worry about energy wastage or high heating bills ever again.

The concept and vision for the interior of the Open Plan Living Jorntrahus show home were planned by Linda Barker, one of the best known and most well loved interior designers around. Top interior designer and stylist Maggie Colvin implemented the interior design for the Open Plan House itself. Maggie has a popular following through regular television appearances on ITV’s This Morning and has designed show houses for the Ideal Home Exhibition for many years.

With the current government’s vision of a green future fuelling the economic recovery, and David Cameron encouraging a Northern European Trade Alliance to boost future growth and trade, the Swedish firm look set to lead the field in the design and development of bringing exceedingly high quality Open Plan Living Homes to the UK.
