Link Building For SEO Software - Rankbuilder 2.0 Review

Link Building for SEO - An objective user's review of the results from setting up Rankbuilder 2.0 LinkWheel Builder software on a seven day trial - didn't need that long to be honest!

United Kingdom of Great Britain & N. Ireland -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Feb 16, 2012 -- Brought to you by Social Marketing Masterclass . I came across Rankbuilder 2 software whilst I was looking through Clickbank for a low initial sale, high recurring value product to promote as an affiliate. The Rankbuilder software package seemed to tick all the boxes. I must say, given its initial and recurring sales values and the evidence provided by the "guru" Alex Goad on the Rankbuilder affiliate page, I was impressed.

The principles of the Rankbuilder software modules, the core of which is the LinkWheel Builder software, are very sound. The premise is that high page 1 rankings are driven by backlinks, and the Rankbuilder supplier has plenty of evidence to back up its claims. Rankbuilder states that it will automate all the submission processes to its recommended Web 2.0 properties, which are in the main high PR blog sites, and then leverage them through RSS submissions to RSS aggregators. Great, saves you time and effort in finding all these sites and services yourself and doing the submissions. All you need to do is supply the article which the LinkWheel Builder software will even spin for you, then hit submit. Looking good!

Rankbuilder training videos
I had trouble loading the training videos and the Rankbuilder support desk suggested I update my Flashplayer, which I did. The first time after that, the videos loaded fine, but subsequently, the only way I could get to them was by clicking on a comment box next to the text header, and the video somehow appeared.

The training videos only cover LinkWheel Builder software, no sign of any training for the other 5 software modules that come with the package. At first, I could only find a PDF training manual - who wants to plough through those these days? The software has just been upgraded, and the training videos appear out of sync with the new release. For example, on the configuration tab, the training referred to a couple of services I would need, HostMyRSS.com and OnlyWire.com, yet there was nowhere to include my log in / account details as stated in the training.

The video also referred to the Decaptcher and Death By Captcha software services which will automatically decipher captcha codes so you don't have to sit there and manually submit them during the registration process. Rankbuilder recommended Decaptcher, yet the original site appears to have moved on to Decaptcher 2, and there was no mention of this in the training video. I signed up for Death by Decaptcha, which has, by its own admission, had problems with response times. However I signed up and entered my details in the Configuration tab.

The bottom line on the Rankbuilder training videos is that they are not yet updated to reflect the new software release; I would expect any solution provider to be on top of this and update its training to reflect the latest software version.

Rankbuilder - Automate email authentication
The LinkWheel Builder software has the functionality to generate a "dummy" email account which it uses when auto registering you as a user. It will also authenticate your email address and confirm your sign up. I set everything ready to go and opted in to all 59 listed Web 2.0 properties.

First thing to know, is that Rankbuilder is only configured to work with Internet Explorer, so if you have other favoured browsers, you will have problems. An IE window opens and you can watch as the software runs through each set up. Death by Decaptcher did not work. In the vast majority of cases I was prompted to enter the captcha manually; those sites which didn't prompt for a captcha probably didn't have it set up.

The Rankbuilder software crashed the first time I used it; it stalled on one particular site and then closed unexpectedly. There does not appear to be any recovery situation, so the Rankbuilder software doesn't appear to remember where it was so you can start where you left off.

Once it got through to the end, the Rankbuilder success rate on registrations was 76%; it failed to register on 14 of the 59 sites. This implies to me that the software is not keeping up to date with changes in registration process requirements.

I then attempted to verify my for submissions which failed. The error message on the log suggested that I disable my firewall - er, excuse me, but NO WAY!

Rankbuilder Article Submission
I continued with the process by editing an article which I had ready. I input the "spyntax" which is very straightforward, against certain key words, and added in three or four links into the body. I previewed and checked the text, looked ok.

Before saving it, I hit the Auto spin button, which unfortunately created a lot of spun words but a lot of gobbledy gook. The article was useless, really, so I had to start again (saving a copy this time, and entering the spyntax myself).

I submitted the article and watched the log as Rankbuilder attempted to post my article. Of the 45 sites that I had sumbmitted to, only 9 accepted my article. Now, I guess this was to do with the failure of the email authentication process. I did notice on some of the blogs, an authentication code was needed, which presumably was in the confirmation email, but which couldn't be picked up by he Rankbuilder software to complete the registration.

Rankbuilder - The Bottom Line
A success rate of 15% does not give one a good impression at all. The training is out of date, elements of the process do not work as well as you would expect, and there is nothing worse than being long on promise and short on delivery. You may have a different experience of Rankbuilder and I would love to hear your success stories, as I believe in its principles, yet Rankbuilder's execution of them fell short for me.
