Lint Center Awards Scholarship to Emerging Leader and Rhodes College Sophomore

The Lint Center, which supports the educational pursuits of America’s emerging leaders in Counterintelligence and National Security, announced Jordan Harms as the 2010 Jack McCoy Scholarship winner.

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 13, 2010 -- The Lint Center, a non-profit charity, focused on supporting the educational pursuits of the next generation of America’s Counterintelligence and National Security Workers, announced that Jordan Harms was selected as the winner of the 2010 Jack McCoy Scholarship. The Lint Center’s Jack McCoy Scholarship is awarded to the candidate who demonstrates the importance of diplomacy to solve world problems.

The Jack McCoy Scholarship for Outstanding Service to Country and Mankind provides $500 to recipients pursuing scholastic study in fields related to Counterintelligence, Cultural Understanding, Diplomacy, and National Security studies.

“The Lint Center is pleased to award the 2010 Jack McCoy Scholarship to Jordan Harms,” said James Lint, Chairman of the Lint Center for National Security Studies. “The Lint Center’s scholarship review committee was thoroughly impressed by his analytical essay on the important role diplomacy plays in thwarting nuclear proliferation around the globe. We are eager to work with Jordan and to provide him a mentor in the national security arena who can advise Jordan as he continues his studies in the years to come.”

About the Jack McCoy Scholarship:

Jack McCoy, the scholarships namesake, epitomizes the American dream. Raised during the Great Depression, McCoy served in the United States Navy and he is a veteran of the Korean War. Following his active duty military career, McCoy dedicated many years to teach foreign students the intricacies of the English language and the complexities of American culture.

The McCoy scholarship recognizes emerging leaders who demonstrate a commitment to service, to building alliances of mutual understanding and cooperation in furtherance of creating forums for effective diplomatic exchanges that are rooted in transparency and reaffirm the importance of global governance. McCoy Scholars exemplify and illustrate the value of personal diplomacy to impact individuals, groups, and opinions both nationally and globally.
