The Lint Center for National Security Studies announced the winner of its annual Ben Franklin Scholarship. The Lint Center, a non-profit charity based in Aberdeen, Md., awarded the 2010 Ben Franklin Scholarship to Kerrie Kurtz.
The Lint Center’s Ben Franklin Scholarship was created in 2009 to identify, support, and mentor young people who recognize the importance of America’s use of diplomacy and the tangible benefits of cultural awareness in international affairs, and encourage their leadership in the fields of counterintelligence and national security.
“We are pleased to award this scholarship to Ms. Kurtz,” said James Lint, Chairman of the Lint Center for National Security Studies. “Her hard work and ambition will surely fuel her continued success in this field. The Lint Center is pleased to support her continued education and to assist her through the Center’s mentoring program.”
In addition to a $500 scholarship, Kurtz will receive a national security mentor provided by the Lint Center who can provide career guidance. Due to the generosity and continued support of the world’s leading private intelligence company, Strategic Forecasting, Inc. (Stratfor), Kurtz will also receive a one-year subscription to Stratfor’s Subscription Service, which includes industry leading intelligence reports providing situational awareness, geopolitical analysis, and analytically rigorous forecasting.
