Little Guy Worldwide unveiled its Bug Out Survival Shelter (BOSS) at this past year's Louisville RV Show hosted in December in Louisville, Kentucky. The RV Show, a major industry buying show, is held each year in Louisville and gives manufacturers an opportunity to showcase their latest models for RV Dealers, the recreational vehicle press, and other stakeholders in the RV industry.

Little Guy Worldwide is the world's leading distributor of lightweight towable RVs. The company's Little Guy, Silver Shadow, and T@B lines of teardrop camper trailers have become increasingly popular over the past decade, but, according to Little Guy Chief Operating Officer Chris Baum, "We have been looking for ways to spice up our line of vintage throwback teardrop camper trailers. When we came across Tim Ralston, International Spokesperson for National Geographic Channel's hit television show 'Doomsday Preppers', well, everything just kind of fell into place."

The result of this collaboration is a teardrop camper trailer unlike anything that anyone has ever seen before. Teardrop owners and enthusiasts are renowned for the ingenuity--often modifying their campers to suit their particular traveling needs. Little Guy took this "modding" one step further by creating a model that is specifically designed as a survival and bug out platform. With the growth in the "prepper" movement over the past couple of years, it looks like Little Guy has hit the market with this product at just the right time. And if the attention that the trailer garnered at the Louisville show is any indication, it looks like they may have a hit on their hands.

In fact, the BOSS Trailer was such a hit at the show, that Little Guy was awarded the prestigious RV Business 2013 Best Debuts Award. "Winning this award is a real honor," said Little Guy Worldwide owner Joe Kicos. "We pride ourselves on producing affordable, lightweight recreational vehicle products that meet a need in this niche segment of the recreational vehicle industry. We are just delighted with the overwhelmingly positive response that the trailer has received so far."

The Little Guy BOSS Trailer is built on a 6-foot wide Rough Rider platform which has a beefed-up frame, skid plate, and a 24-inch deep platform for transporting dirt bikes and other outdoor gear. The camper has a rear galley with two-burner LP stove and a sink with both 5-gallon freshwater tank and water connections. The BOSS is outfitted on the inside with a queen-size mattress, overhead cabinets, and DVD/TV player. The trailer comes complete with Tim Ralston's signature 7-day bug out bag and a 90-day food supply for three people (or 180-day supply for two people). The trailer has a ProRac roof rack with Kayak/Canoe tie downs, and a variety of other optional roof rack accessories may be added. The interior rifle rack, exterior LED lights, and four hidden compartments complete this rugged off-road survival trailer.

Little Guy has been fielding orders for the BOSS from its dealer network, and it expects to fully launch the trailer sometime in February. The trailer retails for around $20,000 and will be available through Little Guy dealers.
