LMC Marketing is looking forward to the chance to travel in to Space and with NASA and Virgin Galactic pairing up; perhaps the dream is getting closer.
Could you think of a better partnership then NASA and Virgin?
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 24, 2011 --
Virgin Galactic has always had hopes of using its spacious Spaceship Two-class reusable space planes for more than just joyrides into zero gravity, and now NASA have set up a brand new contract with the new space company marking a milestone for the whole industry. LMC Marketing is interested to see what comes out of the partnership.
This is the first time that NASA has contracted with a commercial partner to provide flights into space on a suborbital spacecraft. As reported on Fastcompany.com the decision for Virgin Galactic and NASA to team up came from NASA's Chief Technologist, and it's technically a further step in a program that's already seen NASA technology-based flights on low-altitude rockets. It is easy to see why NASA made the decision as there are many benefits for all parties involved. Inside the 3.7 by 2.3 meter cabin of a Spaceship Two, lots of scientific payloads can be dragged up as there's enough room for flight specialists who can monitor and tweak the any experiments in a way that wouldn't be possible on an automated low-altitude rocket.
Virgin Galactic is the front-runner in the space tourism race so far. Spaceport America, with their New Mexico space base, also has a suborbital craft currently undergoing rigorous tests but it is not until companies like Virgin Galactic set up space travel as the norm, that space tourism will become something that people will start saving up for. Contests and sweepstakes like those launched by the Space Needle may be great discussion starters, but the industry will take off only after batches of space tourists have been sent up and brought home safely. There are currently 450 customers who are waiting to fly with the company and they have 18 months or so to go before it is ready to launch. With lives on the line and Virgin Galactic’s going rate of £120,000 per person, per trip, the pressures on to get every tiny aspect right. LMC Marketing is glad Virgin Galactic is taking their time to make sure that safety comes first.
The demand for civilian space flights will sky rocket once there has been a successful flight. For those with a spare £120,000 and a desire to experience zero gravity LMC Marketing are sure there will be a rush, and who knows how popular space travel will be in 40 years, perhaps it will be the norm.
