Local Author and Illustrator Inspires Children Through her Simple Message

April 30, 2010

Eco friendly children's book tackles tough current environmental issues with a simple message for children of all ages.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 30, 2010 -- Chicago, IL, May 1st, 2010 - - Chicago Author and Illustrator, Alexandra Gnoske, will be reading and signing her new children’s book, Loui Saves the Earth, Saturday, May 15th, at the book release party, held at Drew’s Eatery, 2207 W. Montrose Ave., Chicago.

Ms. Gnoske takes her passion for nature and wildlife and turns it into an inspiring story with a simple message: children can make a difference for Planet Earth. As a native Chicagoan, she draws from her surroundings to create colorful pictures that will entertain and educate children of all ages.

“Kids can make a difference for our planet. Loui Saves the Earth is a very simple book that will please even the smallest children. Soon the little ones will be teaching these lessons to those around them,” says Jill Vanderwood, author, What's It Like Living Green?: Kids Teaching Kids, by the Way They Live.

Even though she grew up in the city, Ms. Gnoske has always loved wildlife. She accredits this to frequent trips to the Lincoln Park Zoo, and bird watching excursions along the Chicago River. As a child she escaped into the zoo’s bird exhibit and happily joined dozens of white pelicans before her mother could retrieve her. “Chicago has a lot of wildlife and nature to enjoy,” says Ms. Gnoske.

Ms. Gnoske is also the owner and President of Recycle Me, an organic cotton clothing company that prints positive environmental statement shirts in an environmentally responsible manner. She is truly a person who believes in living green by example. Her clothing is all manufactured in the United States and Loui Saves the Earth is printed in Tennessee.

Ms. Gnoske has many adventurous stories for Loui and Dusty to help the planet and hopes to inspire many superheroes for Planet Earth. Her blog features stories about simple things children are doing to help the planet. She is also writing a book about the environmental impact of clothing.

You can find Ms. Gnoske reading and signing Loui Saves the Earth throughout Chicagoland. She will be promoting her book at Green Genes in Andersonville, Uncommon Ground in Edgewater, Green Home Experts in Oak Park, It’s Our Earth in Wheaton, and many other locations.
