FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 30, 2009 --
Dacula, Ga., – Local author Pamela Swyers burst on the fiction scene with “Boys with Cars,” a story about life, love, friendship and loss. The book can be found in Books for Less on Buford Highway in Buford as well as on Amazon.com, the Barnes and Noble Web site, and on Swyers’ Web site, www.pamelaswyers.com.
Swyers is a member of the Georgia Writer’s Association and has been penning works of fiction her whole life. She and her husband Bill recently started Writer’s Café (www.writerscafe.us) along with Swyers Publishing. Writer’s Café is a networking site for writers, agents and publishers, or for those who just love to read what others have written. Swyers Publishing was started to provide assistance to new aspiring authors, particularly independent writers who seek to take a less traditional route to publish their works.
“The world of publishing has been turned on its ear in recent years, making it harder and harder for new authors to break through. We seek to change with the changing world, and find new avenues to help authors publish,” Swyers said.
Swyers has a coffee table book out as well, “Fictionary.”
The sequel to “Boys With Cars,” “Married With Children,” will be available everywhere by early December and can be purchased now at the author’s Web site. She is currently writing her seventh book. Other titles to be on the look-out for are “Rebound,” a love story set in Buckhead; “Designs on Love,” a romantic mystery; and the first in her fantasy series, “Dylan's Cause,” all due for release in 2010.
Growing up in small-town Oklahoma (the setting for “Boys With Cars”), Swyers moved to Miami, Fla., as a young adult and lived there for many years before Hurricane Andrew blew her to Georgia in 1992. The mother of three grown children has lived in Dacula for six years and has been happily married for 21 years.
What people are saying about “Boys With Cars”:
“I think many women could relate to the events that happened in Ronnie and Adi's lives. I enjoyed watching the friendship of these two characters mature from childhood to adulthood. True to life, the decisions these characters made in their childhood affected the way their lives ended up as adults. I am looking forward to reading the sequel.” – Christa Brockway
“OMG! I just finished the book! I am a voracious reader and love the kind of books that keep you reading, not wanting to stop, and I could not put this down!” – Tammi Campbell
“It was great. And yes, I did cry.” – Jennie Cook
“If you have not read it you should! Yes, it made me cry at the end, but it was a very good book!” – Peggy Karnowski
