Local Business Strives During Vancouver 2010 Olympics

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 18, 2010 -- Whistler, British Columbia…Ski Butlers Whistler has seen its business increase 70% during the 2009/10 ski season and Olympic year. “It is very uncommon for a local business to see this growth during an Olympic year,” said Bryn Carey, President of Ski Butlers International. “Growth like this usually happens in the five years following the Olympics.”

Ski Butlers bookings have been strong leading up to the Olympics and will continue through the Olympics. With worries of parking, traffic and other hassles, the convenience of ski rental delivery makes the overall Olympic experience easier for travelers looking to watch the games and ski themselves. Another key factor is that Whistler Mountain will be 90% open during the games. Airline baggage fees have also increased demand for Ski Butlers.

Carey franchised Ski Butlers Whistler to local business people Karin Schulze and Rob Giffin in 2007. “I am going to attend the Olympics to help with the high demand.” It is not all business for Carey during the Olympics however. “My brother Forest Carey will be coaching the US Ski Team during the Olympics. This is an exciting time in our family and I am glad I can be a part of it.” Forest Carey was previously the head coach for Bode Miller’s Team America and Bode Miller. When Miller rejoined the US Ski Team this winter, Forest also returned to the Team.
