Liz Pilibosian, chief engineer of Cadillac said, “When we started planning to equip this vehicle with the 3.6L engine, I challenged our engineers to achieve 300 horsepower and maintain fuel efficiency. They came back and exceeded the goal with 308 horsepower.” The engineers have worked hard to equip the 2012 Cadillac SRX with the most standard power in its crossover segment.

Engineers were able to improve the power and acceleration of the 2012 SRX by increasing its air intake capacity. With more air intake capacity, the vehicle stays cooler and allows for more power on hot, slow days. The exhaust system of the 2012 SRX has been completely reworked with larger pipes and a higher-volume muffler, allowing for more torque and acceleration.

With less shifting and more torque, drivers experience better performance with the 2012 Cadillac SRX on the highway. Passing other vehicles and maneuvering on the highway has become safer. Even though the engine is bigger and more powerful, soundproofing materials allow for a quieter ride as well.
