Local Cannabis Collective smashes Food Bank donation record!
Arizona Cannabis Society broke the record for the largest donation at the West side Food bank thanks to a patient appreciation party/canned food drive!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 14, 2011 --
Today the second truck full of food made its way over to the West Side Food Bank to be distributed to families in need all over the West Valley. The food was donated during a patient appreciation party in which Arizona Cannabis Society asked any and every cardholder to bring in canned foods in exchange for raffle tickets. The first truck contained 289 lbs of food, the second truck contained 469 lbs of food, and the record for the largest donation had previously been set at 472 lbs.
The cannabis patient party manged to "Collectively" deliver 758 lbs of food "in hopes of giving back to the families right in our own backyards. There are plenty of great things we can do as a not-for-profit and this is just one example."
Another example is the AZCS "Tops for Tots" toy drive Arizona Cannabis Society is currently sponsoring across the valley. The group has offered a variety of free cannabis gifts to anyone that brings in a toy meeting the qualifications. "it's really great seeing all the people bringing in toys and knowing that every single one will end up in the hands of a child this Holiday Season" said "Drew" one of the consultants with the cannabis society, "patients feel good knowing their gift will help a child in need and we feel great knowing we are helping the patients in Arizona get safe, high quality medicine or high quality genetics to start their own medical marijuana gardens at home.
Whether patients opt for the smokeable gift or the growable gift, everyone leaves AZCS quite happy.
The group has asked the rest of the industry to pull together this Holiday Season and participate in the Toy Drive and as of this release several have stepped up and placed toy drive boxes in their facility and stores across the valley. "We can only hope more people step up, there is no better cause than the children that need us the most."
