Local Idaho Auctioneer Wins Tri-State Competition

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 4, 2010 -- Sunday October 3rd, 2010 auctioneers from Washington, Idaho, and Oregon met in Pasco, WA to test their skills at the Annual Northwest Auctioneers Association Championship.

Rose Backs of Coeur d'Alene Idaho took home the win and became the first women to win that award. Ms. Backs had been a finalist in the four state Northwest Auctioneer Competition and in 2006 placed as one of the Top 3 Auctioneers in the state of Idaho during the annual competition. This year however she stole the show.

Mrs. Backs began her auction career in 1997 as a clerk and bid spotter. Rose attended Repperts School of Auctioneering in Auburn, Indiana and graduated third in her class in 2003.

In 2004 she competed in and won the Idaho State Rookie Auctioneer Contest. In that same year she vied for the top recognition available for an auctioneer, The International Auctioneering Championship, hosted by the National Auctioneers Association. Rose was a finalist in that competition and was recognized again in 2006 for being among the top 7 women auctioneers in the nation. Rose and her husband Matt are the only husband, wife team to ever simultaneously make the finals in the IAC. “That’s a good compliment to their skills” said National Auctioneers Association communications director, Steve Baska.

Mrs. Backs is a member of many local and national organizations including; Post Falls & Coeur d’Alene Chambers of Commerce, the Northwest Women in Business Network, Coeur d’Alene Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, The National Auctioneers Association and Idaho & Washington State Auctioneers Associations. She also currently serves on the Leadership Team of the Women in Business Network and the Board of Directors of the Idaho Association of Professional Auctioneers. Rose is also a Licensed Realtor at Century 21 Beutler & Associates.

Real Estate Auctions have quickly become the focus of Rose’s career, conducting residential, vacant land and commercial property via individual or multi-property events.

Rose is multi faceted though and participates in wholesale automobile auctions in Idaho and Washington and Collector car auctions for Silver Collector Car Auctions through out the northwest.
