LOCAL JOLIET POLITICIAN RALLIES SUPPORT FOR LOCAL RESIDENT STRICKEN WITH LEUKEMIA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Joliet, Illinois, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) November 13, 2011 -- 11/13/11

JOLIET, ILLINOIS

Local Joliet resident, Tim Suste, is a young man who always took pride in taking care of himself, eating healthy, working out, and enjoying life. On September 19, 2011, Tim Suste was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Facing the fight of his life and mounting medical bills, his family and friends rallied together and contacted local businesses, organizations and persons to donate items in support of a benefit, which was held on November 12, 2011.

The benefit was held at the Croatian Culture Club in Joliet and a website was created to promote the event, found online at www.timsuste.com.

Concerned about this citizen, Joliet resident and 2012 Candidate for Illinois House of Representatives, Ryan M. Alm, upon receiving word of the event wanted to get involved.

“Cancer, in this form, is such a horrible thing to be stricken with to such a vibrant young man in our community,” said Candidate Alm. “Once I heard that Mr. Suste was diagnosed with this disease and a benefit was being held to support this young man, I knew I couldn’t sit back and do nothing,” Candidate Alm stated.

The term leukemia refers to cancers of the white blood cells (also called leukocytes or WBCs). When a person has leukemia, large numbers of abnormal white blood cells are produced in the bone marrow. These abnormal white cells crowd the bone marrow and flood the bloodstream, but they cannot perform their proper role of protecting the body against disease because they are defective.

“Unlike the current Representative, Jack McGuire, who no longer wants to expend any effort to meet and greet with the constituents of our District 86 communities, I cannot sit idly by without lending a hand,” Candidate Alm continued to state. “My grandmother battled with cancer 15 years ago and it took such a toll on her body, so I understand what a great physical and financial burden this must be for Mr. Suste,” the Candidate said.

The Candidate attended the benefit, donated money and a tangible item. “It was the least I could do,” Mr. Alm said. “However, I want to do more. That’s why I’m also speaking out about this urgent situation, in effort to rally more support for this loved Joliet resident,” said Alm.

Since Mr. Suste has been home, he has had to undergo chemotherapy treatments and testing, a family member announced. It has been a very long rough road for Mr. Suste, but now he has a bigger fight. Tim will require a bone marrow transplant, to help ensure that no relapse will occur. That is why the benefit was so vital to support Mr. Suste and even though the benefit has since past, residents can still support Mr. Suste by visiting at any PNC Bank and donate to account #4807867543.

Let’s hope that Mr. Suste pulls through in this fight for his life. Our elected officials need to reach out to our constituents in their time of need. Fighting for our District’s economic health isn’t the only thing that our elected officials should do. They should also strive to lend moral support and sincerity in their concern for all of our residents and that’s exactly what Candidate Alm is trying to do. He ended his interview with these final words, “To Tim Suste, and all other residents of District 86 battling leukemia, please take care and don’t give up on the fight for your lives. Our community cares about you.”
