(Free-Press-Release.com) June 6, 2010 --
Little Rock, AR, June 25, 2010: Little Rock, AR, may seem like an unlikely place to find Martial Arts, but this is where over 6,000 of taekwondo’s elite will converge on the weekend of the 24th of June. This small town will host over 10,00 spectators from all over the world in the biggest tournament of the year, the American Taekwondo Association (ATA) World Championship Tournament, and San Antonio will be represented BIG TIME! Team Legacy, winners of the 2010 ATA Black Belt Nationals demo team competition, will challenge two other teams from the ATA for the title of World Champion Demonstration Team 2010!
Team Legacy is made up of eight incredible athletes. Leading the team is the dynamic duo of 4th degree black belt Chief Instructors--Mr. Evan Turner, currently the World Champion 2009 in XMA Weapons, and Mr. Chris Lossing. Currently they hold title of Team Sync Black Belt Nationals Champions and will also compete for a World Title this month. Joining their instructors are the very talented 17-year old 2nd degree BB Senior from Taft HS, Mr. John Healey; 14 year old 3rd degree BB and Texas champion in forms, weapons, and extreme weapons, Ms. Rissa Kilar; 10-year old 3rd degree BB, Mr. Walter "Jr" Kilar; 14-year old 2nd degree BB freshman from Brandeis HS, Mr. Jose "JoJo" Guzman III (also active in orchestra and placed 2nd in UIL for viola ensemble); 10-year old 1st degree BB, Mr. Christian Perez from St. John Bosco; and 13-year old 1st degree BB, Mr. Van Asher Chandler from Boerne Middle School South (also active with the animal shelter and other volunteer organizations).
This year there is a new twist to the Opening Ceremonies, where the three teams will vie for 1st place. For the first time, you will be able to join the 10,000 spectators by watching the performance LIVE on pay- per-view! Following the teams performances, you will be able to text in your vote for the best demo team and sync team. Team Legacy is counting on San Antonio's support. If you would like to see Team Legacy Victory Martial Arts in person before Worlds, they will be performing for the opening of the Karate Kid at select area theaters.
