Local Karate Kids Win World Title at World Championships

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 29, 2010 -- Little Rock, Arkansas, June 25, 2010. Team Legacy brought some Texas-sized attitude to Little Rock and won the title as World Champion Demo Team at the American Taekwondo Association World Championships. Thousands of spectators and hundreds of online viewers witnessed the dawn of a new era as Victory Team Legacy of San Antonio upended the 3-time world champion Victory Dream Team and claimed its first title as the best demo team in ATA.

This was the second year that voters could text in their vote for best demo team in the land, but this year ATA added an additional feature--online pay-per-view. For Team Legacy, World Championships was the culmination of a year of practice and public demonstrations. Victory Team Legacy garnered 63% of the votes, Victory Dream Team of Orlando, FL earned 21% of the votes, and Team X-Out earned the remaining 16%.

As ATA concluded its 2010 season with Top Ten Competition and Demo Team Competition, the ATA kicked off the 2011 season with its tournament theme of "Determination. Destination." Team Legacy's destination for 2011 will be back at Little Rock competing once again for the title of world champion.
