LOCAL PHYSICIAN INJECTS BOTOX® Cosmetic TO CURE BLINDNESS IN AFRICA

May 12, 2010

Charitable Effort Aimed at Helping Millions Suffering from Curable Blindness

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) May 12, 2010 --Greenwich, CT - May 10, 2010 – BOTOX® Cosmetic injector Dr. Jeffry Schorr of The Greenwich Medical Skincare & Laser Spa has been selected for a unique national fundraiser to be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 (LIVE webcast at endblindness.tv). Profits will be dedicated to sight-restoring surgeries and the purchase of a camera to screen for diabetic retinopathy through the Eyes of Africa Initiative of the One World Sight Project.
Patterned after their successful 2007 National BOTOX® Cosmetic fundraiser, Vanity for Vision continues One World Sight’s innovative fundraising using BOTOX® Cosmetic injections as a vehicle to raise money to provide cataract surgeries to the developing portions of Africa. BOTOX® Cosmetic injections will be offered on May 14 and May 18th at participating offices throughout the country for a discounted price, with proceeds going to benefit One World Sight Project.
The Eyes of Africa Initiative takes the growing trend of women and men getting treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic in the United States and turns it into a philanthropic call to action to end blindness in Africa. Cataract is responsible for almost half of the 7 million blind Africans and a simple $25-50 procedure can permanently restore their sight in a matter of minutes.

The 2007 National BOTOX® Cosmetic fundraiser brought in over $200,000 to help complete the first community center for ophthalmology in all of Africa, as well as cure over 200 people of blindness.
The current Eyes of Africa Initiative will support sustainable development plans and will feature a relief component, with hundreds of live cataract surgery procedures being performed in Africa simultaneous with the fundraising.
