Local rock band releases new album with TMG

Their new self-titled album has a spirited retro sound with blues rock subtleties and a grunge attitude that is similar to that of Alice in Chains or Pearljam.

We The People hales from Silverlake, California, and has been playing together for four years. From the infamous Viper room to the holes in walls all over Los Angeles, these guys have made their way around the music circuit in Southern California. The band has also done many small tours throughout the Midwest spanning from Oklahoma, Iowa, Ohio, and Kentucky.

On rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Jacob James has the combination of the howl and growl of Eddie Vedder with the smooth baritone of Jim Morrison. Mike Murray, the drummer, is the hard pounding, soul-funk infused John Bohnam type. On keys, Jared Yankowy is a skilled piano player that has blended pop/rock type melodies with 60's blues based organ playing. The band’s live performances are heavy hitting and soulful. From the West coast through the heartland of America, this band is making major waves.
