ASHLAND, Ma. – (Dec. 3, 2009) An Ashland wholesale importer is consolidating its warehouses, and that means bargain time for Santa’s helpers.
An assortment of natural toys, eco-minded educational materials, furniture and other products for babies and children is available at or below wholesale prices at the Challenge & Fun warehouse on the second floor at 50 Rear Main Street during its moving sale. Organic cotton dolls and stuffed animals, wooden puzzles and blocks, puppets, natural bath products and room decor are among sale items, none of which require batteries.

“In the 10 years that we have been in Ashland, this is the first time we have opened up our warehouse to the public like this. But, we want to minimize the merchandise we have to move to our other center, so it’s a unique opportunity for the public to purchase high-quality items at very attractive prices – in time for the holidays,” said Rob Wilson, the company’s director of marketing.
Inventory spotted on the shelves includes German Christmas collectibles – such as whimsical nutcrackers – candleholders and other merchandise from Europe, as well as items made in the USA from natural materials. Some merchandise will be sold through silent auction, and other lucky warehouse visitors may be tapped for product giveaways.
“Many of the people that attended today’s event marveled at the array of beautiful products and appreciated being able to get a lot of their holiday shopping done in one stop without breaking the bank,” said Wilson.
The warehouse sale began Nov. 11 and will continue through December. Opening dates & times vary so customers should check the company’s website for exact details (www.challengeandfun.com). (Note: The warehouse entrance is by the dock on the right-hand side of the building at 50 Rear Main St. by the Step Direct door.)
“Our products are safe for kids, eco-friendly and a good way to go a little greener this holiday season. Decorate a live pine that you can plant after Christmas, and string it with popcorn and cranberry garlands that the birds can eat later on. Put your lights on a timer, use recycled-paper gift wrap and place some all-natural gifts underneath the tree for your kids. That can be your gift to Mother Earth,” said Wilson.
About Challenge & Fun
Challenge & Fun, Inc. was established in 1998 to supply beautiful, natural children's products not readily available in the U.S. market. Through the years, the inventory mix has evolved, but the Ashland, Mass., company has stayed true to its original objective while using only the finest materials. Challenge & Fun currently features soft, organic cotton dolls and stuffed animals, as well as wooden blocks & toys, including fruits and vegetables for market play – all made in Europe. The company has developed its own balance boards, manufactured from sustainable wood here in the USA, and sells other American-made products, too.
