Losing weight isn't rocket science, it is as simple as eating less then you use! So they say.
Losing weight is about choices, metabolism and balancing your calories to be less then what you use daily. As a doctor I have battled the same weight loss issue you have, My solution is as follows.

As a doctor I fight the same battles with weight gain as the rest of the 80% of Americans. I have tried one diet after another. I have tried different prescription medications designed for easy weight loss and I even tried using a smaller plate. The end result, I was over 350 lb. at age 59 and climbing. I am now 64 lb.. In August of 2011 I realized after completing yet another diet, this time HCG and 650 calories a day, I had lost weight but quickly gained it back because the diet was un-sustainable. Truth is I can't function on 650 calories and see 50 patients a day and complete the endless task I have to accomplish on any given day. I found I was tired, hungry and most of the time a cranky old man. Yet another failure. I knew I had to cut calories but maintain proper nutrition to keep my energy levels up. I also came to the conclusion that the standard three meals a day didn't work for me. Every diet required me to eat 3-6 meals a day and if I failed at one of those choices, well you know the diet was over! So if making the right choices was the problem then how do I get good nutrition and limit my choices?
In September I designed a meal replacement regimen where I would eat one meal a day and replace the other two with a nutrition based shake in the morning and evening. This limited my food choices to one meal a day in place of 3- 6 required by most diets. I even went through the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays with out any weight gain. That was a big accomplishment for me!! I did this by replacing one meal a day during that period.
Well when you think you found something that works usually someone has already thought of it. I received a e-mail for another doctor about a company called Visalus Sciences. The concept much like what had been so successful for me but so much better. Their product offering was better quality and a true meal replacement. It offered the nutritional equivalent of a 6000 calorie meal in a 90 calorie shake. Their advantage was they were $40 a month cheaper then the product I was selling. They also offer a variety of nutritional supplements to aid in weight loss and over all health. I was sold on the company solely based on the product offerings. I think you will to.
I have now been on the diet 6 months and have lost 64 lb’s. I have not had any sugar cravings, a few of the ice cream establishments probably wished I did. I am on a program that has been sustainable and it has offered a total change in how I view food. Calories in calories out, it is as simple as that, not rocket science.
