FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Woodland Hills, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 1, 2011 -- According to US bankruptcy court records, bankruptcy filing is down 9.5% from last year. This may seem like good news for Americans, with a possible sign of a break in the weak economy. Experts are not buying this. Many states are still seeing a loss in jobs, and experts are concerned that with no end in sight to the struggling economy, bankruptcy numbers will rise again. The loss of jobs and the inability to pay mortgages still has consumers filing to try to save their homes.

Nationwide, consumer bankruptcy filing has lowered, but it is a sign of a change in lifestyle and not a break in the economy. Consumers are spending less, creating less debt, and are unable to get loans. These are the main reasons experts believe bankruptcy numbers have gone down. Banks are not only giving out fewer loans, but also beginning to work with people to pay off their credit debt. Financial institutions are realizing that with no end in sight to bad economic times, they need to be more flexible with payments if they want to get payments at all.

There was a time when bankruptcy was easy to file. With today’s tough guidelines and costs, many people are simply not filing because they cannot afford to. Those that have filed this year have been mainly filing Chapter 7. This means most consumers are strictly trying to get out of their credit card or medical bill debts. Most consumers do not want to file and are simply holding out for things to get better.

All of this means that bankruptcy numbers are not down because of a rebound in the economy. While everyone continues to struggle, experts believe that we have not hit the end of the road quite yet.
