Low flush toilets. Just one of the many energy saving tips you can find at www.energy-freeenergy-energytips.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 4, 2009 --

There is disagreement over who was the inventor of the modern flush toilet. Many people give credit to an English sanitary engineer, for inventing the valve and siphon arrangement that made our modern toilet possible. No matter to who you give the credit, you can't help but appreciate the importance of their contributions to mankind when you consider the alternatives. A gleaming tribute to human ingenuity stands silent and ready for use at a moments notice. This invention is now largely ignored or taken for granted, but it has done as much to revolutionize the health of the world as any vaccine.
As our attention turns to conservation and preservation of resources, we find ourselves looking into protecting our fresh water resources. Consumers are now conscience of wasteful habits that were once traditional and striving to find “Going Green” tips. Our newest tip is the installation of the low flush toilet.

The low flow or low flush toilet uses 1.6 gallons of water which is a huge savings from the 3.5 to 7 the traditional toilets uses. Flushing a toilet accounts for 14 percent of the water used both inside and outside a home. Flushing a toilet accounts for 38% of the indoor water usage for the typical U.S. home.
Many people who live in older homes do not have low-flow toilets. Government and nonprofit agencies are influencing homeowners to replace toilets with new low-flow models and cities and municipal water organizations are offering rebates for purchasing a low-flush toilet.

There are many different types of low-flush toilets available most use either a gravity or pressure-assisted technology to work. Like standard toilets, low flow toilets come in varying designs ranging from basic to luxurious.
