Madeyya Al Mazrouei’s fresh Haute Couture & RTW creations impress at 2011 Oriental Red Carpet Fashion Show

Madeyya Al Mazrouie made a strong impression as one of the up-and-coming local fashion designers to watch out for during the 2011 Oriental Red Carpet Fashion Show organized recently by Dubai Ladies Club, a member of Dubai Women Establishment. Al Mazrouie was handpicked along with two other Emiratis for the pioneering initiative, which aims to build the careers of promising local fashion designers by exposing them to media and introducing them to key local and international clientele.

The young designer showcased 24 new designs under her 2011 /2012 Autumn–Winter collection reflecting the unique fashion sense of modern and high-profile Arab women. Even before finalizing this collection, two designs were in fact featured in the closing ceremony of the Berlin-Dubai Festival held at the Kempinski Hotel in Palm Jumeirah last November, where it received rave reviews for capturing the genuine beauty and charm of women.
The VIP guests led by Dubai Ladies Club VP Mona Al Marri, club members, special female guests and members of the media commended the creativity, market appeal, workmanship, and choice of material of the Haute Couture & Ready-To-Wear (RTW) creations presented by Al Mazrouei. These were the very same attributes that convinced the organizers to include the talented designer in the career-defining show.

“Only a few designers were privileged enough to have been selected for the Oriental Red Carpet Fashion Show this year, and I am honored to be one of them. I am grateful for this opportunity especially as I am just in the early stages of my career. I still have a lot of ideas that I am sure will surprise and inspire my fellow Emiratis who are interested in making a name in the region’s rapidly growing fashion scene,” said Al Mazrouei.

Earlier this year, Al Mazrouei obtained a degree in fashion design from Esmod University – the Middle East’s only French school fully dedicated to fashion. She participated in several shows organized by the Goethe-Institut and recently joined other designers in a trip to Berlin, Germany where she shared expertise with German fashion designers. Al Mazrouei first proved her fashion savvy when she successfully displayed her own pieces – conceptualized and prepared in less than two months - at a fashion boutique in Kuwait. She currently runs a boutique in Jumeirah.
