In a recent video interview, Stegner talks with Leslie Reichert, author of Joy of Green Cleaning, who shares information from two studies done by the Silent Spring Institute that have identified a connection between the amount of cleaning a woman does using laundry detergent and cleaning supplies that contain chemicals and her susceptibility for developing breast cancer.

“Chemical cleaning products expose a woman to phthalates that interact with her hormone production,” said Reichert. “When there is a disruption in hormones there is an opportunity for cancer cells to develop.”
