A wooden floor is the most beautiful and pleasant to be in our homes, because wood is a natural material that gives warmth. But, just as “natural” wood is a delicate matter and in need of constant care, to last through time.
As a natural material, wood is in fact subject to variations in climate, temperature and humidity. The ideal condition for maintaining a wood floor in perfect condition includes a temperature between 18 and 22 degrees and humidity environment around 40-60%. However, in homes, especially in winter when the heaters are turned on, the air is drier, and the wood flooring tends to shrink. Therefore it is appropriate to use humidifiers to return to the air condition. To maintain control of the weather using instruments such as thermometers and hygrometers.
Maintenance of parquet
For daily cleaning of parquet are a few simple precautions necessary. And ‘Just use a broom or vacuum cleaner and a damp cloth to remove stains. Cleaning products are used as those recommended by the manufacturers but never those containing ammonia. Certainly wear is an inevitable element for a living material such as wood and should not be seen as something necessarily negative, because it gives the floor a worn look. To avoid excessive damage, however, it is sufficient to use a series of attentions.
For example, chairs and furniture that are moved frequently must be equipped with special pads under the feet. The high traffic areas, such as corridors, should be protected with mats. The pots with the plants should be adequately insulated from the floor. It should be remembered that by now many wood floors in production are eligible to be laid on heated floors. It should however be avoided by the use of woods such as beech and maple.
