Whiskey belongs to an elite alcohol, which is classified as a strong alcoholic drink of Scotch or Irish manufacture. There is also American whiskey that bears the name of Bourbon. Scotch whiskey is considered any whiskey irrespective of where the spill was, if its spirits were made in Scotland. The most popular varieties of this drink is "William Grants," "Cutty Sark", "Ballantayns", "Scottish Collie", "Highland Park" and "Dyuars."
Irish whiskey is less well known than the Scottish. Its most common varieties are considered to be "Millars" and "Turkonell". But do not confuse these elite varieties of alcohol with an Irish drink, made at home and called by people "poteen". American Whiskey Bourbon is famous for the following brands: Whisky "Jack Daniels", "Jim Beam", "White Horse", "Bukers", "Penny Packer," "Old Fellows" and others.

By type of material used distinguish malt, grain and blended whiskey. In general, the classification applies only to the Scottish and Irish Whiskey. Blended whisky is the most popular, with production of over 90% of the total alcohol sales of this kind in the world. This whiskey is obtained by mixing (blending) of malt and grain types of the drink.

Grain whisky is the raw material for the manufacture of a mixed drink. Pure Grain whiskey is only a small fraction of the sale of alcohol. Most often it is used for the production of vodka or gin.Malt whisky - this is pure barley malt, without adding a grain whiskey. This, in turn, is divided into the following types:

1. Barrel (vatted malt) is a blend of malt whiskeys of different industries. Mostly aged in oak barrels and, as a rule, the allowable strength it is at least 40%;

2. Malt (single malt) - this is a whiskey distillery, but allowed to mix drinks of different years of aging. It is much more popular cask. This is due to fairly high and sales of alcohol on the market. Although the distillery adhere strictly to the technology of its manufacture, each variety has its own unique taste and aroma;

3. Single cask malt whiskey is sustained in a barrel and having the original fort. Sometimes it is allowed to breed standard.

Bourbon whiskey is produced from corn, rye and barley. Unlike Scotch and Irish whiskeys, it has a heavy alcohol flavor and sweet taste and alcohol content varies between 40-51%. Bourbon is made mainly in states such as Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Montana, and Tennessee.
