Make Holiday Entertaining ‘Fun, Fabulous, Festive and Frugal’ at the Porto Vista

Hotel Offers Variety of Holiday Dining Options for Hosted Entertaining

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 4, 2010 -- This holiday season, The Porto Vista Hotel is making it easy to create an extraordinary holiday event for the penny-wise. The hotel is enticing those to get in the spirit with a new “Fun, Fabulous, Festive, and Frugal” holiday menu offering a variety of creative dining options as low as $19 per person. And, as an early gift to guests, for every $1,500 spent on holiday entertaining from Dec. 1 through Jan. 16, the hotel will provide a complimentary room and breakfast for two.

“This is an incredible offer that most hotels cannot compete with during the holiday season,” said Greg Keebler, general manager of the Porto Vista Hotel. “The addition of the complimentary room is a special touch, as you can use it during the night of your event, raffle it off at the party or save it for a special occasion.”

Guests and holiday planners can select from a variety of delightful dining offerings including plated, reception or buffet options for lunch and dinner. For example, the “Sauvage” dinner, starting at $25 per guest, or $35 with wine pairings, features:

• A first course of the Seafood Beggars Pouch, with shrimp, scallops and bouillabaisse, paired with Marquee Chardonnay, Australia 2008;

• Followed by a second course with a choice of the Flat Iron Oscar, with hollandaise, crab timbale and asparagus paired with Martin & Weyrich Nebbiolo, Central Coast 2006; or the Pan Seared Snapper with roasted vegetable farotto, orange zabaglione, paired with Newton "Red Label" Chardonnay, Napa 2007;

• And for dessert, a Jamaican Spiced Rum Cake with maple syrup foam, paired with an Eggnog Martini.

Additional plated dinner menus include the Velvet ($25) or Silk ($36) options. For those interested in buffet-style dinners, the restaurant offers Organza ($25) and Tulle ($36) options. Large parties of 40 or more will enjoy the sumptuous fare included in the Chiffon reception package ($55). Or, for more informal private gatherings, the Charmeuse luncheon ($19) is offered daily.
