Make the Yuletide Bright with the Cheerful Sounds of the Taylor Community Chorus
The Taylor Cultural Arts Commission presents the Taylor Community Chorus Annual Christmas Concert Friday, December 11, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Sheridan Center in Heritage Park

Taylor, Mich. — December 2, 2009 — Poinsettias, silver bells, snow and reindeer—it's that time of year again for one of Taylor's winter favorites—the Annual Taylor Community Chorus Christmas Concert. Under the umbrella of The Taylor Cultural Arts Commission (TCAC) and Taylor Friends of The Arts (FOA), the Taylor Community Chorus will perform its Annual Christmas Concert on Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m. at the Sheridan Community Center inside Taylor's beautiful Heritage Park.
Directed by Mark Ennis and comprised of 27 volunteer singers from the community, the chorus will perform a variety of traditional songs and carols including "Do You Hear What I Hear?," "A Marshmallow World," and Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song." Other songs performed will include an audience sing-along of some holiday traditional favorites such as "The First Nowell" — so bring your singing voices along with your listening ears. The annual Taylor Community Chorus Christmas Concert is bound to be a delightful evening for all ages.
Start your holidays with the cheerful sounds of The Taylor Community Chorus the evening of Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Sheridan Community Center at 7 p.m. The Sheridan Community Center is located at 12111 Pardee Road inside Taylor's Heritage Park. Tickets are only $5.00 per person and are on sale now. Purchase tickets in advance by calling Mr. Ennis at (313) 291-7893 and at the door the night of the event. About the Taylor Cultural Arts Commission and Taylor Friends of the Arts
Founded in 2004, the five-year-old organization has the mission and goal to promote advancement of the arts in the City of Taylor. Thus far, the group has produced a variety of cultural events. The group also supports and encourages students who intend to pursue arts-related careers with two annual scholarships awarded to graduating high-school seniors who live in Taylor regardless of what high school they attend or district in which they are enrolled. The TCAC/FOA vision includes bringing different types of cultural arts to the City from providing classes to displaying art exhibitions, musical, dance and theatrical productions and more. The TCAC and FOA are composed of a group of citizens interested in the cultural arts with varied backgrounds from working in the visual or performing arts to business leadership, education, medicine and more. What this diverse group of people has in common is the ability to make our community more vibrant with an additional continual goal to help make a more robust economy. This dedicated group along with the help and guidance of the Director of the City's Parks & Recreation Department seeks to enhance the lives of people in the community through enriching experiences in the cultural arts.
