Make U.S. Borders Military Installations

ANYWHERE , California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 5, 2011 -- Members of Congress, The Senate, State Legislators listen up. I've emailed a few of you without so much as a response. So I would like to bring this matter up for national attention. General Public please get involved to carry this idea forward.

Also it needs further development beyond concept and I am willing to work with a group to help move this to realization.

My idea is to take between 5-10 miles of the U.S. Borders and turn them into a Military Installation or group of installations. As you know, the military uses installations for differing purposes. Some are for training, some for defense, some for proving grounds etc. Cities would be excluded, only non-city or rural land.

If the borders were military installations any trespassing becomes a federal crime and a matter of military defense. Any unauthorized overflights of air space is a matter of military defense.

The border patrol could then concentrate on city passage ways and our coastal defense to supplement Coast Guard and customs.

Lots of Land Needed

Yes, there is a lot of land required to make this happen as the border from Texas to California is involved. However the vast majority of this land is uncultivated and shouldn't be excessively priced.

Also Some of the current military bases and installations could be closed and moved to the new land. Some of the current bases are in expensive areas and can pay for an enormous amount of land in the deserts of New Mexico and Arizona for example.

Also, the United States already owns some of this land such as in Yuma.

Secure Borders
The military is certainly capable or the most capable of defending its installations, more so than other departments of the government.

Testing for drones, sensor arrays, satellite commitment are all things the military does very well. Why not let this testing and defense combine to protect the borders. Weapons proving grounds, special ops, plenty of uses or training opportunities could keep our borders much safer than they are right now.

And let me beat you to the punch...to not do so because of one nationality or another makes you a racist. After all we have a viable system in place for legal immigration from Mexico and Canada so saying otherwise makes you a racist in favor of one nationality above the rest and most certainly above a U.S. Citizen. So keep racism out of this, were talking national defense and protected borders, not the ethnicity of those who cross the borders illegally.

Public Media

This should be made a serious point of consideration by the media. ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, all the newspapers ante-up and bring it to the public's attention.

As much money as you think it could cost - it could save in movement and transfer of current resources. But the bottom line is we would have what we've always needed...secure borders in a way that makes sense.

As we turn the corner to 2012 this is a topic which time has come and should be a center stage in the solutions department. We need to think of solutions to change the problems and not patch them. Candidate Herman Cain is one who offers something no other candidate has dared too, offered a foundation for a real solution with his 999 plan, let this be another one. And the rest of you, stop trying to please everyone, Herman Cain has jumped to center stage because he has offered something that makes sense to the vast majority of U.S. Citizens. Do the same, and your votes will take care of themselves.

Legal Immigration

This change in National Security will also support our Legal Immigration policies without having to continue year after year with the Canadian illegal crossings. To word it any other way gives way to ones decrying racism, and we've all had enough of that. It took me two years to bring my family legally to the U.S. so I feel its only fair for non-U.S. Citizens to do likewise. And for all those doing it legally, Mexicans, Filipinos, British, French, South Africans, Kenyans, etc. they are doing it right, lets not slap their faces for following the rules.

Please help to bring this to national attention and make it a matter for the United States Citizens to consider adopting.

Volunteer
There are many organizations who already have the staffing and organization in place which could carry the torch on this, and they can always use grass roots support on everything from research to dissemination of information.

If you can help, volunteer your services, as I now offer mine. I am writing this while dealing with incredible back pain, but its important, and I beg for someone to listen to a simple and sound idea that can be developed further. The pain of watching our nation flounder on such issues has gone on long enough.

Together we can develop solutions and not continue with make-shift repairs for this great nation, The United States.
