FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 12, 2011 --
Ashfield Toastmasters http://www.ashfieldtoastmasters.org.au celebrate their 5 years as a Chartered Toastmasters Club on April 16, 2011. At that event the current club and district treasurer Kerry McNally will MC proceedings.
Before toastmasters Kerry would not have been able to undertake such a role. The confidence and professionalism he has developed through the toastmasters speechcraft program has transformed Kerry from terrified to triumphant as a speaker and MC.
Prior to joining Toastmasters in 2002, Kerry missed opportunities for fear of having to speak in public. Kerry's is not an isolated story. Many members of Ashfield Toastmasters have come to gain confidence and improve public speaking skills. Members from migrant backgrounds have come not only to gain confidence but to practice English in a speech setting.
In today's climate it is essential to stand out and be noticed. To be memorable for all the right reasons - confidence, presentation, capability, speaking and leadership. There is almost no life occasion - births, deaths and marriage - not commemorated with a speech. Those are the qualities Ashfield Toastmasters is celebrating on April 16 and throughout 2011.
Toastmasters is about public speaking skills and developing leadership. Many Toastmasters members have gone on to gain new employment, progress in their business, or improve their sales and speaking techniques for their own businesses.
Within it’s 5 year history Ashfield Toastmasters has not only witnessed the personal growth and development of it’s members but also seen members compete at Club, Area and Division speech contests. These are celebrated achievements for any toastmasters club.
Ashfield Toastmasters has four distinguished toastmasters ( DTM ) as members and recently supported one of it’s newer members representing the club, and Area 48 at the Phillip Division International Speech Contest. Toastmasters celebrate and reward achievements.
That is why Ashfield Toastmasters and it’s members will so proudly celebrate where they began and where they have come in 2011. Ashfield Toastmasters is 5 years strong.
Toastmasters offers a supportive environment to grow. Kerry is one such success story being able to change from a person who passed up life opportunities for the fear of speaking to one who has grown confident and accomplished enough to MC an event.
