Mark Ijlal Invites Homes for Sale in Farmington Hills MI Owner Darrick Scruggs to Speak to His Group

The group had its usual monthly meeting, but this time Scruggs shared real estate and general success tips with the group of local Detroit Area investors. This event was held at the Marriot in Southfield.

Not only did Scruggs give many real estate investing tips, he also gave some really strong general success tips.

When Mark Ijlal introduced Scruggs to the group, he described Darrick as one of the only people he knows who always makes him smarter every time he talks with him.

Darrick Scruggs explained to the crowd that failure is not bad as long as you learn from it. He pointed out that most people are afraid of feeling uncomfortable, but to be successful, you need to be willing to leave your comfort zone and be okay feeling uncomfortable.

He reminded people that you cannot be a real estate investor and be a secret agent. You have to let everyone know what you are doing, because you never know who might be able to help you.

His favorite type of person has passion and focus. He said, “When you start something, you probably won’t be any good at it, but if you have passion, you’ll take time to learn and become the best at it.” To encourage beginning investors, he said that he would rather work with someone was has passion and focus than someone who simply has skills. He chimed, “Without passion, you’ll run the first time you have a problem.”

To the crowd of real estate investors, he summarized that you can make a lot of money doing property flips if you have good rehab crews and a good system in place, even in this market.

Scruggs said that today is a perfect time to buy homes for sale in Farmington Hills MI and other places throughout the City of Detroit and its Metro Area. Property prices and property taxes are historically low. Plus, often it is cheaper to get repairs done than in the past, because so many contractors really need and want to work. So many are willing to work for prices they never would have previously considered.

Darrick said that when it comes to real estate investing, “I believe in the Walk, Crawl, Run Theory. When you’re first starting, begin with a single family home.” He likened it to learning how to crawl. Afterward, he added that you can always invest in biggest or more complex things after you gain enough experience to be able to “run.”
