The name change follows the recent management buyout led by Brian O’Neill, CEO of MarketSpreads.ie who said: “Launching the MarketSpreads.ie name, along with a brand new trading platform ready for the markets opening on Monday, is a new milestone for the business. We’ve been trading very well since the start of the year and have seen a surge in the numbers of people taking an interest in the financial markets. People want to take more control of their financial destiny.”

The Irish-owned financial spread trading company was co-founded by O’Neill in 2000 and was bought out in a deal worth €11M. It employs 25 people in Dublin.

O’Neill added: “It has been a spectacular couple of weeks on the markets. Gold is at a record high, the Euro and Oil have seen severe declines and the stock market has had its most dramatic spell of volatility since the winter of 2008. On May 6th we had our second highest number of trades ever in 10 years in business. I believe this shows that people who spread trade are more responsive to rapid market movements and tend to be better informed for their ongoing investment decisions.”
