WASHINGTON, DC, April 26, 2010 – The post-recession economy is accelerating a trend toward more entrepreneurial businesses in the United States. Nationwide, it is estimated that approximately 10 million Americans are self-employed, up from an estimated 8 million in 1980. The Washington, DC area, with its highly diversified knowledge economy, is home to many of these entrepreneurs.
Now these entrepreneurs have a place to go where they can learn how to effectively grow their businesses and collaborate with other entrepreneurs. Marshall Brown, President of Marshall Brown & Associates, recently launched the Entrepreneur Mastery Success Program, where entrepreneurs are connected with other like-minded free agents who are focused on similar goals. “We work on constructive feedback, help brainstorm new possibilities, and set up accountability structures that keep the entrepreneur focused,” Brown explained.
Some of the participants in the inaugural Mastery Group are already praising it for the benefits they have received from working with other entrepreneurs. "The Mastery Group is one of the best things to happen to me,” said Vinay Kumar, Life & Executive Coach and Facilitator of Strategic Conversations, Vinay Kumar Associates LLC. “Oftentimes we can't see our own unique gifts, whereas others can. Being part of Marshall's group has helped me capture my unique value proposition, which is the crucial foundation for success.” Al Rickard, President of Association Vision, a Washington, DC-area communication company, added, “Marshall has a real talent for tapping the knowledge of each member of our group to help other group members succeed.”
Brown is a certified career and executive coach, an entrepreneur coach, and a personal brand strategist.
