Mary Cook & Associates was tasked designing new interiors for the clubhouse lobby and vestibule that celebrated the building’s Tudor-style architecture while maintaining a warm and welcoming ambiance.

Nestled along the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan in the northern Chicago suburb of Wilmette, Michigan Shores is a second home to more than a thousand members. Its strong ties to its past are delicately woven among the threads of modern progression, evident in the multi-cultural and generational diversity so revered in its patrons. The club offers a wealth of activities for members including a four-lane bowling alley, fitness center, outdoor paddle tennis courts, indoor pool, several dining and event spaces, a ballroom and more.

The Michigan Shores Club can trace its beginnings to 1904, when Wilmette’s firs social club, the Ouillmette Country Club, moved from its original Wilmette location to where Michigan Shores stands today. The Daniel Burns-designed clubhouse, with its commanding presence atop the bluff at the terminus of Lake Avenue and sweeping vistas of Lake Michigan, is a Wilmette landmark.
