Marylin Monroe and Spanish student

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 12, 2010 -- On Wednesday 14th December students from Instituto Hemingway visited the Marilyn Monroe exhibition in Bilbao. The exhibition dates in Bilbao are 26th October until 9th December in order to coincide with Bilbao´s period of excellent cinematography.

This is an exhibition created by Maite Minguez Ricart, a cinema enthusiast who has what is considered the most important Marilyn Monroe collection in the world. Maite Minguez Ricart and her husband Luis de Val own more than 1800 famous items from films and a large part of this collection is dedicated to Marylin Monroe.

This exhibition takes the visitor through Monroe’s life using her films as landmarks. There are around 100 items in the exhibition: costumes worn by Monroe during the 1950s and items which belonged to her. The exhibition is broken into 3 stages:
1) Costumes from films such as “Gentlemen prefer Blondes”, “There’s no business like show business”, “The Seven year Itch” and “How to Marry a Millionaire”.
2) The elegant outfits from Monroe’s personal wardrobe including her suits, coats and clothes by her favourite designers, such as Emilio Pucci.
3) Objects relating to her private life such as make-up, personal documents, work contracts etc. There is also a family album which shows the Hollywood star in her childhood.

Marylin Monroe was not only a style icon in the 1950s; she continues to be a sex symbol today. This intimate collection gives the visitor a unique insight into one of the most desirable women of all time.
