A massive 800+ website link farm has been discovered manipulating Google's web results giving unfair search rankings to real estate brokers.

A large link farm using black hat methods such as hidden text and link stuffing was found manipulating search results in the real estate industry.

A company called GRT (Global Response Technologies), operating under domain name www.smartmarketingagent.com has been found creating tens of thousands of hidden text URL's. Hidden text simply means setting the font color to match the background, rendering the text invisible.

GRT’s black hat method to create tens of thousands of web pages gave their company and their customer’s extreme exposure in the competitive search market. This also put them in the position to sell powerful back links to large corporations who can afford to buy them.

A common denominator found among all black hat web pages created by GRT was Las Vegas Real Estate broker Coldwell Banker Premier. Each of the tens of thousands of links contained similar keyword giving Coldwell Banker and others a higher top spot when searching “Las Vegas Homes”. This black hat tactic stopped fair competition and monopolized the real estate search industry.
