The viewer learns how oil spills commonly occur and reviews factors to consider during the response. The program differentiates oil types, including gasoline, jet fuel, naphtha, gasoline, diesel fuels, asphalt, and crude oil. Additional topics include the hazards associated with oil spills, agencies to notify, factors that affect oil spill behavior, site control, and responder safety. This oil spill video training series was created with the assistance of the US Coast Guard, and examines all recognized oil spill clean-up technologies and emphasizes waste management techniques. It is used worldwide by the US Coast Guard and some 500 other organizations to meet OSHA and USCG regulations. This series was produced by the Emergency Film Group, an award-winning leader in DVD and video-based training for hazmat and terrorism emergency response.
