Matthew McConaughey and his long time girlfriend Camila Alves are both engaged.

new york city, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 28, 2011 -- Proving just how great the holiday season can be, Matthew McConaughey and his longtime girlfriend of five years, Camila Alves, are finally engaged.

According to US Weekly, the actor popped the question to Alves on Christmas day by having there be a little something extra special under the Christmas tree this year an engagement ring. McConaughey himself confirmed the exciting news via his Twitter account, writing, "Just asked Camila to marry me, Merry Christmas," while additionally posting a picture of the two of them kissing on his Who Say account.

The pair met in 2006 and currently shares two children together: Levi and Vida.
