Long Island, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) March 1, 2011 -- I’ve been selected to attend a LeadAmerica youth leadership conference in 2011 and I’m very excited about the opportunities it offers me. I am your future. Help me to secure a spot in a program that will enable me to stop the a shortage projected in this field. I am interested in Ophthalmology, with an emphasis on cataract surgery.

I am going to the MEDICINE & HEALTHCARE camp in the summer of 2011. I set high standards for personal achievement, and have worked very hard to obtain my 100.7 average in school. This achievement orientation will serve me well as a medical student, and later as a practicing ophthalmologist. LeadAmerica's camp would provide me a head start on the skills I will need in the future.
My heritage can be traced to a mixture of coastal tribes of Indians; and English settlements. There has been an underrepresentation of my heritage in the medical field ,so I would like to try and change that.

I am a member of the National Honor Society, a NYS rated chess player, an assistant referee for two L.I. soccer clubs, was selected to the woman's choir in NYSCAMME, and I play golf, soccer, and basketball. I am a soccer goalie for my team. I also tutor in math and belong to Tri-M, a music club which participates in community service.

LeadAmerica gives students the opportunity to see and experience the endless possibilities available to them. LeadAmerica students are challenged to imagine the vast possibilities ahead. Top students in grades 6 -12 from across the United States and the world are selected to participate in these college-accredited invitational leadership conferences.
