Medieval Days' UK Living History offers an exciting way to introduce your students to the wonders of both national and local history in the United Kingdom

Any teacher knows that students learn best when they are engaged both mentally and physically with the information at hand. At Medieval Days, we have assembled a crack team of experts who make school visits, outlining what life was like in medieval and ancient times, using sources children will be familiar with (folk stories, nursery rhymes, and myths about our past) to outline lessons about the basics of medieval life.

HANDS ON EXPERIENCE
With a background in medieval history, the head of Medieval Days is Peter Balanck, whose published work and experience in antiques identification, as well as qualifications for archery teaching, make him an ideal person to show students how Medieval armoury is put together and explain the history behind many traditions that evolved during this period.

Not only will students receive an introduction to the period and geography requested by their tutors (Medieval Days will tailor our lessons to suit the unit you happen to be teaching) but we will also provide practical lessons in archery, an excellent way to develop team building and confidence in students.

Medieval Days can offer your school group a variety of experiences and views of medieval life. We bring food and drink from the period for children to sample, and based on the requirements of the school we also offer medieval-inspired competitions.

Because our expertise is exhaustive and students are able to ask questions that receive genuine answers, we find that students become highly involved in the learning process, and although Medieval Days begins with a set plan, this plan is flexible and tailored through the day so that both teachers and students are sure to gain the most from their Medieval Days experience.
