Durham, North Carolina, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) March 22, 2011 --The Carolina Phoenix Women’s Tackle Football Team will be hosting a Meet & Greet on Saturday, April 2nd at Northgate Mall in the food court. The Carolina Phoenix has played in the Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL) for the past 5 years. This year their goal is World Champions. This meet & greet will be the kickoff to their 2011 Season which begins April 9th in Baltimore, MD. Their first home game will be Saturday April 16th at the newly remodeled Durham County Memorial Stadium beginning at 7pm. This will be their homecoming game with many activities throughout the evening.

PJ, the angry chicken, will be there to meet with kids and they will be fun giveaways for the kids. Any youth groups, 12 and under, can come and pick up FREE season ticket vouchers!

They team with be at Northgate on the same day the Mall is celebrating Easter and look forward to meeting many potential fans and recruits. We are in growth mode. We have several new players and are looking forward to showcasing their talent along with the veterans whom current fans have come to love.

The Carolina Phoenix Women’s Tackle Football was started in 2006 with 15 women who won 5 out of 6 games their first season. They have been in the playoffs every year since. Their goals in the 2011 season are to bring the National Title to the Triangle, to raise awareness for childhood obesity and to promote strong, confident women through sports participation.
