Meet Local Author of Real Dogs Don't Whisper at Bay Area Pet Expo

San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) February 1, 2012 -- Kelly Preston, author of Real Dogs Don't Whisper, will be making a guest appearance at Bay Area Pet Expo event. The event is Saturday February 4th from 10:00am to 6:00pm: Santa Clara Fairgrounds 344 Tully Road San Jose, CA; with Free admission. Kelly will be available for book signing and questions during the event; she will be with VCA Animal Hospital.

The Bay Area Pet Expo is a woofing, chirping, and meowing good time for the whole family! Four-legged friends can receive "spa treatments" from local groomers, sample delicious treats, and try on the latest in furry fashions; their humans will enjoy interacting with top trainers and learning pet-care tips from animal welfare organizations.

Rounding out the list of activities is an agility demonstration, pet talent and costume shows, and an exciting pet/owner look-alike contest!

The highlight of the event is definitely the adoptable animals showcased by area non-profit rescue groups-- who knows, you may just come home with a new family member!

About the authors:


Kelly Preston is, first and foremost, an animal lover. Raised on a ten-acre property in a small town in Pennsylvania, she grew up with horses, rabbits, and - of course - dogs. When she left home after college, she acquired Gizmo, an irresistible Lhasa Apso that started her on a journey full of joys and sorrows, hopes and tribulations, frustrations, endless lessons in patience, and above all else, love. All of this has come at the hands (more precisely the paws) of Gizmo, Betty Boop, Buffy, Carla Mae, and the inimitable Mr. MaGoo.





Mr. MaGoo is a nine-year-old Lhasa Apso and the book's co-creator and co-writer. He is, in his own words, "the alpha and omega of all dogs - in the cutest and sparkiest, most fun-loving package ever." Ignoring Kelly's persistent eye-rolling, Mr. MaGoo has forged ahead with this project in an attempt to, as he puts it, "present the facts from a dog's perspective. In other words, the correct, most accurate, most interesting, only-one-that-matters perspective," to which he adds, simply, "Woof!"
