While few ever realize the dream, Rhonda Shasteen, a long-time Dallas resident, lived hers at the helm of Mary Kay Inc. For more than a quarter-century, climbing up every stage of the food chain from Administrative Assistant to Chief Marketing Officer, Shasteen has seen and experienced first-hand the direct and deleterious effect of poor leadership and communication on human resources, as well as the direct and productive effect of compelling leadership and communication. Which is why on Friday, September 9th, at AMS Pictures in Dallas, the Dallas Fort Worth American Marketing Association will host Shasteen as she imparts on attendees the value of a mentoring relationship for professional growth, insights into being a model leader and effective communicator, and how to boldly navigate corporate politics and keep control. Joining her onstage will be her own mentee, Alexia Isaak, to hammer home the oft-forgotten truism that good leadership requires good followership too.
