MERA Becomes ETSI Member

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 31, 2010 -- MERA, an Eastern Europe's leader in value-added software R&D services, became a full member of the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI). This decision was approved at the 55th ETSI General Assembly in Cannes (France).

ETSI is a European non-profit standardization organization which produces globally-applicable standards for Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). At present ETSI counts more than 700 member organizations drawn from over 60 countries world-wide. ETSI inspired the creation of 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project), which develops technical specifications for the 3rd and 4th Generation Mobile Systems.

ETSI membership gives MERA an opportunity to be involved in global telecommunications standards development within the framework of TISPAN activities - the key standardization body specializing in fixed IP telephony networks and Internet convergence. This will let MERA shorten time-to-market of software telecom solutions for its customers. For MERA, with its 20 years’ track-record of successfully realized solutions based on the latest ETSI, 3GPP and IETF technical specifications, it is an important milestone in developing its innovation expertise and increasing business efficiency.
