MERRY CHARITY: LAWYERS IN FLORIDA GIVE BACK THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 2, 2009 -- Jacksonville, FL December 2009—Merry Charity is an annual holiday event that asks the Jacksonville area legal community to join together for a good time and a good cause. The Law Office of Maggie Jo Hilliard, P.A. and Camerlengo & Brockwell, P.L., a beach firm and a downtown firm respectively, have joined forces this year in hopes to increase Merry Charity’s impact on the community.

Merry Charity will benefit The Sanctuary on 8th Street, Sulzbacher Center and the 4th Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem program. One Ocean Resort and Bailey Publishing and other local businesses are also donating time, services and prizes to create an unforgettable event for both the event attendees and the benefiting entities.

Merry Charity focuses on providing necessities and gifts to underprivileged children and families in the Jacksonville area. A wide array of items will be collected, ranging from art supplies, to clothing, to new toys and small appliances. All items requested have been specifically identified by the organizations as needs this holiday season . Teams will be formed to help maximize the giving but individual donations are welcomed at all levels. “If only half of the invited firms donates five items to the cause, the needs will be met; if every single attorney donates just one item to the cause, the wishes will be granted as well.” states Tiffany Meeks, attorney and team/event coordinator for Merry Charity.

A holiday drop-in and Merry Charity kick-off event was held on December 2, 2009 at the Riverfront Professional Building. The kick-off event provided details about the holiday drive, and fostered some friendly competition by encouraging the formation of “giving teams” amongst attendees. “We take all year from this community, so it's time to give back." stated Maggie Jo Hilliard, attorney and founder of Merry Charity.

The main event will take place at the beautiful One Ocean Resort, located in Atlantic Beach On December 16th. Representatives of Guardian Ad Litem, The Salzbacher Center and The Sanctuary on 8th Street will be collecting donations from the party-goers, winning “giving teams” will be rewarded with bragging rights, and a good time will be had by all.
