MFT Professor Publishes Article on Hope International University's Innovative Program

HIU Adjunt Professor Erin Parker describes what makes Hope’s marriage and family therapy program unique in her nationally published article.

An article authored by Erin Parker (MA ’10) on Hope International University’s (HIU) marriage and family therapy (MFT) program was published in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy’s September/October 2011 magazine. The article, entitled “Innovations in MFT Training,” describes how HIU’s program develops Christian-principled counselors who are highly trained to help families. She also details what sets Hope apart from other MFT programs: our Professional Development Plan and Client Simulation. Parker writes that these two platforms “ensure quality, professionalism, and personal enrichment.”

Erin Parker earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from HIU and currently serves as the MFT Program Coordinator and Adjunct Professor in the College of Psychology and Counseling at Hope. She previously worked as an MFT intern at the Hope Counseling Center, http://www.hiu.edu/hcc/.
