Michigan Jeep Dealers Going for Big Finish but Facing Big Competition in News Coverage

Michigan GMC dealers may fare much better this week.

The Big Finish 2010 event held by Michigan Jeep dealers could also be applied to all three Detroit automakers, as all are doing everything they can to end 2010 on a good note, or make a big finish. Ford continues to go heavy on its newest products such as the Ford Fiesta and Ford Explorer. GM executives have been pushing hard during their road show to promote the upcoming IPO this Thursday, and the high interest in the IPO will likely set the final IPO price at $30 per share; the IPO will not only generate a good chunk of change for GM but will also reduce the government’s claim in the company by almost 20 percent.
Many media outlets are devoting their energies to the GM IPO, so it will be a rarity for Michigan Jeep dealers to see much press on their Big Finish 2010 event, other than from Chrysler.
There is no doubt that year-end reports about the fall and rise of the Detroit Three will be plentiful as January 2011 approaches, but it’s definitely going to be hard for automakers to get any major press coverage for individual sales events like these.
