Michigan Weaver, Mary Rios was selected by Henry Ford Greenfield Village Museum to weave authentic antique reproduction 19th Century wall to wall rag rug carpeting for the museum's Sarah Jordan Boarding House. The hand woven wall to wall rag rug carpeting, created by Mary Rios, was installed at the Sarah Jordan Boarding House in July 2009 and will remain as a permanent artistic installation at the Henry Ford Greenfield Village. It takes a particular skill and discipline level to be able to duplicate authentically antiques.
Of her rug installation Mary comments, "It was overwhelming for me to see my rug in this setting. I could not have anticipated the emotion I experienced. For me, making by hand is heartfelt, no matter what the project."
