MiGFlug helps financing privately owned Ex-military jet fighters.

December 20, 2010

Ex-military jet fighters are not very expensive to buy, but pricy to fly and maintain. Until recently, fractional ownership has been the common model. MiGFlug offers an alternative to jet owners.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 20, 2010 -- Many former Air Force jets, especially the Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros, are privately held today. As these jets have been produced in the thousands, they are easily available after the Cold War ended and the thread of a "hot war" decreased. Moreover, former WAPA-countries had financial troubles and slashed defence budgets, so many military jets became available.

As these multi-million jets traded at a knocked-down price starting from USD 150'000, many could afford a jet. But as costs to purchase a jet fighter are not higher than for a fancy Italian sports car, it is still expensive to operate it. Owners do not only spend a fortune for fuel for every flight, they also have to rent a shelter and pay a lot for the cyclical overhaul and maintenance.
As many owners can't afford to fly a lot, the common model so far was fractional ownership, as known from Yachts.

An alternative and highly successful solution has been introduced in 2004 by MiGFlug and its subsidiary, FlyFighterJet. It is a dream for many to go for a ride in a fighter. MiGFlug/FlyFighterJet acts as intermediary between jet owners and the public, enabling its customers to be a fighter pilot for a day. These flights help jet owners to finance the jet without sharing it.

Switzerland-based MiGFlug/FlyFighterJet controls the safety and quality and requires full insurance coverage, a quality flight program that includes handing over control to the customer, and an attractive flight location. For a better experience and enhanced safety, ex-Air Force pilots are preferred.
Potential customers are selected by medical checks. They do not need a pilot licence or flight experience.

In Russia, MiGFlug has links to the defence ministry that allows it to offer flights in public-held supersonic jet fighters that are still active in the Russian Air Force.

MiGFlug/FlyFighterJet services and jet flights are available in Australia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, USA, Russia, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland.
