Hello, I am Most Reverend Louis N. Bernhardt. Most folks just call me Father Louis.

I have created this book as a guide for new ministers that are starting out in a ministry, fresh from college, or recently called to a church. Serving as a priest and minister on call to a population of over 5 million people of many ethnic and cultural backgrounds I have strive to serve those needing a minister, yet did not have a family pastor. Those requesting call for many reasons. Weddings and funerals are the most requested services that I provide in the Metro Houston-Galveston, Texas areas. Baptism services and Christening Ceremonies are also very popular. Sweet 16 and Quinceanera Celebrations are especially popular in many areas now as they are in Texas. New Home or Business Location Blessings Ceremonies, Ship Blessing Celebrations and Blessings of the Fleet all require the services of a Minister to officiate.

The Wedding Ceremony

I am starting the with a service outline for a Catholic and Anglican wedding ceremony based on the Catholic Mass wedding yet has been written to include all components required by the Anglican Rite Old Catholic Church, Inc. This service outline includes the two required Bible Readings, the required Gospel, a spoken sermonette, the vows, the blessings, the exchange of rings, communion and the pronouncement of being ban and wife. The Unity Candle, special readings or poetry, and vows the couple writes to each other may be added to this outline. The Bible verses can be changed to suit your couple.

The Official Outline
Preparation to start:
The Minister makes ready the alter where he prepares the required items. A cross or crucifix, a communion kit with wine and bread, Holy Water, The Holy Bible, Blessing Oil, and a alter or table covered in white linen or cloth.

The minister shall stand facing the crowd, The groom shall join the minister and stand to the minister's left side.

Entrance Processional:

The procession shall begin when the music starts or the minister tells the coordinator by signal to start. At this time preselected music should start.
The father (or person selected) , the bride, the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, the best man, flower girl, meet at the entrance to the chapel. The flower girl(s) go first walking down the isle, then go the bridesmaids, the best lady. Each should be escorted by a male groomsman or the best man.
