Minute to Win it hosted an open call today in West Jordan, Utah. Held at the corporate offices for Mountain America Credit Union, participants stayed outside in lines for up to an hour and a half to get a seat in the warm and entertaining meeting room. Participants of every age waited anxiously for their chance to talk to a judge for 30 seconds. A few of them stood out from the rest, for widely varied reasons.
First to discuss their story with a pop chips VP candidate that was hosting interviews was a Coach Roach from Layton and her daughter, Natasha. This pair was out at the auditions for mother daughter bonding time. Friendly and talkative, Coach Roach talked about her using Minute to Win It games in her PE class. Teachers and friends had encouraged her to come, but it was time with her daughter doing something fun that got the coach to make the drive to West Jordan. Natasha, a charismatic entrant stood out immediately and won the chance to sing the Oscar Meyer theme song for her chance to win Real soccer gear. With her arm fresh in a cast from a soccer injury and the way she belted out that song, she didn't have to prove her love of games.
The campaign for pop chips VP candidate Jennifer Mason that had started a random interviewing of the days characters next met an inspiration in the healthy lifestyles campaign. Tim Batton was the first in line to try the flavorful health snack while telling his story. Batton is headed to Iron Man. He's just ran the incredible race of losing 270 pounds and today, he ran a 5k before heading with his wife and five of his kids to the Minute to Win It competition. He donned a shirt with his website, 90DaystoIronMan.com and his before picture. He gave a great interview and he and his family got introduced to pop chips, a snack food with all natural ingredients, prepared in a revolutionary way. Like the bag says, it's exposed to heat and pressure and it pops. Thus, pop chips was born. Batton today high fived his interviewer and headed in to spend a day with his family in the midst of one of pop cultures favorite game shows.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, any spectrum, was Justin and Skyler Loder or, Blaze and Laser. With their "winner" outfits and hilarious commentary, team Blaser made the place come alive with laughter as the pair performed and answered trivia questions. When given a try of the health snack, pop chips, "popilicious" was countered by, "Even popilicous doesn't describe it [pop chips]." Always arguing but a unified pair, these two concluded the minute to win it interview right before the VP candidate for pop chips tryed out, recording the whole process for the social media component of her campaign. If you'd like to vote for Jennifer Mason, go to pop chips facebook, click VP search and Mason is currently on page two. Minute to Win It and the new trivia game's casting call call-backs will span the next six months.
